Projects

The Advocacy Committee launched the OACAO video, "Senior Centres Bring It Together" on June 3, 2003. This video provides an excellent view of the programs and services provided through Older Adult Centres.

The Advocacy Committee of the OACAO is continuously working with centres in providing assistance to them in applying for funding through the Elderly Persons Centres Grant administered by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

Through funding from the Trillium Foundation, the OACAO coordinates the efforts of 20 Alzheimer's projects operated by OACAO members across the province.

The OACAO is a member of ALCOA, the Active Living Coaliton of Older Adults, and is involved in the provision of workshops on Diabetes Prevention, Care and Management to OACAO member centres.
